We are now just over 2 weeks away from summer camp. Don't wait until the
last minute to ensure you have all the gear you need. If you have any
questions about packing, let someone know. You also need to get your med
form C
<https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf>
turned in on Monday (scouts and adults). We will be reviewing the forms
for those that are missing and reaching out to ensure no one has to miss
camp due to missing medical forms.
Additional notes on packing:
- Do not pack your uniform. We will be travelling in uniform.
- You will need to pack a lunch for Sunday. All other meals will be
provided by camp. (We plan to return before lunch on Saturday)
- Bring swim gear in a backpack in case we need to take swim tests again
(or if you haven't taken a swim test yet).
- Consider decorating your trunk with duct tape or stickers to make it
distinctive. We will have a lot of scouts with similar trunks.
- Budget for the trading post (snacks, souvenirs, etc). They accept cash,
debit and credit cards. Scouts must be responsible for their own spending
money.
- Outside snacks are allowed.
- meds need to be in their original containers (see attachment for more
info).
- pack appropriately for the classes you signed up for.
The leader guide
<https://1bsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024-Sequoyah-Leader-Guide.pdf>
has a lot of good information. I've attached some information from the
guide. It has information about:
- the importance of the buddy system
- how medication is handled at camp
- valuables + lost & found
- process for emergencies (will review with scouts at camp)
For scouts that are attending Eagle Bound, the last page has information
about what scouts should bring and what scouts should expect. For scouts
that are not signed up for Eagle Bound, review the merit badge requirements
list

for requirements done at home or any additional info
