<div dir="ltr">We are now just over 2 weeks away from summer camp. Don't wait until the last minute to ensure you have all the gear you need. If you have any questions about packing, let someone know. You also need to get your<a href="https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf"> med form C</a> turned in on Monday (scouts and adults). We will be reviewing the forms for those that are missing and reaching out to ensure no one has to miss camp due to missing medical forms.<div><br></div><div>Additional notes on packing:</div><div>- Do not pack your uniform. We will be travelling in uniform.</div><div>- You will need to pack a lunch for Sunday. All other meals will be provided by camp. (We plan to return before lunch on Saturday)</div><div>- Bring swim gear in a backpack in case we need to take swim tests again (or if you haven't taken a swim test yet).</div><div>- Consider decorating your trunk with duct tape or stickers to make it distinctive. We will have a lot of scouts with similar trunks.</div><div>- Budget for the trading post (snacks, souvenirs, etc). They accept cash, debit and credit cards. Scouts must be responsible for their own spending money.</div><div>- Outside snacks are allowed.</div><div>- meds need to be in their original containers (see attachment for more info).</div><div>- pack appropriately for the classes you signed up for.</div><div><br></div><div>The <a href="https://1bsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024-Sequoyah-Leader-Guide.pdf">leader guide</a> has a lot of good information. I've attached some information from the guide. It has information about:</div><div>- the importance of the buddy system</div><div>- how medication is handled at camp</div><div>- valuables + lost & found</div><div>- process for emergencies (will review with scouts at camp)</div><div><br></div><div>For scouts that are attending Eagle Bound, the last page has information about what scouts should bring and what scouts should expect. For scouts that are not signed up for Eagle Bound, review the <a href="https://1bsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Merit-Badge-List-with-Requirements.pdf">merit badge requirements list</a> for requirements done at home or any additional info</div><div><br></div><div>Josh Cooley</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, Apr 28, 2024 at 5:45 PM Josh Cooley <<a href="mailto:jbcooley@cooleyhome.com">jbcooley@cooleyhome.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Summer Camp is 7 weeks away, and it's time to think about the gear you need for camp. I've attached a packing list from the <a href="https://1bsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024-Sequoyah-Leader-Guide.pdf" target="_blank">leader guide</a>. The first page of the attached pdf has some general information, and a suggested packing list is on the second page. The packing list does not point out that you must wear close toed shoes, but it is required for all areas except for the showers. Open toe sandals are not allowed for camp. They are encouraged for the shower.<div><br></div><div>We will be camping in tents with cots and mattresses provided.</div><div><img src="cid:ii_lvk3f5lu1" alt="image.png" width="209" height="154"><br></div><div>You will want to pack gear in something that is weather resistant and can hold personal gear while it is not in use. Items that are not packed away and left on the floor may get wet if we have a hard rain. A plastic tote or footlocker can be used for camp and is sufficient to keep things dry and clean. Here's an example <a href="https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Footlocker-Plastic-Black/16415912" target="_blank">footlocker at walmart</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>The tents are provided by the camp, and we will have two campers per tent. If you prefer a hammock or a personal tent, you are welcome to bring one.</div><div><br></div><div>Josh Cooley</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>
