All,
Below are some events and requests for help. Please review these and let
me know if you are able to help with any of these events. I've included
the planning calendar for 12 more months with tentative plans in
parentheses at the end of this email.
*October 18 & 19:*
Day trips to Cavern Cove Competitive Shooting Range
Volunteers to spray paint targets between competition rounds
Collect donations
Volunteers needed to have buddies at stations. This is particularly true
for Sunday
*October 24-26*
Camping at Lake Guntersville State Park. We have invited AoL scouts to
join us. We need as many scouts holding leadership positions attending as
possible. I know that several of you have conflicts, but those that can
attend should plan on attending.
*November:*
Camping, tentatively at Camp Jackson. We need a trekmaster for this trip.
The date has not been set.
*December:*
A lock-in, planning for High Point Huntsville. We need a trekmaster for
this overnight. The date has not been set.
*January 16-19:*
We will be travelling over a 3 day weekend. We will need additional adults
for transportation and an adult grubmaster.
*February:*
The scouts have asked for an Archery event with this year's shooting
sports. We do not have the equipment for Archery. If you have Archery
equipment that can be shared, please let me know.
*May:*
The scouts would like to go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
This is about 5 hours of travel time, and will need to fall on dates that
support this. I've tentatively put this in May to support a trip after
school ends.
*June/Summer Camp:*
We will be looking at sites and dates over the next few months. We need
adult support for this. The usual Father's Day departure falls later this
year. We may change our date based on the location we select.
In addition to the regular adult support, we need two adults for camp
planning. We need an adult to support transportation. This is new this
year. You'll need to make sure we have enough seats for every scout that's
registered for camp. We also have an adult to support class registration.
If you are interested in helping scouts register for classes, we likely
have someone who will be leading that and you can learn how that works.
