[Troop351] July at Camp Jackson

It's time to go camping.  If you are participating in Wilderness Survival
camping, plan for building your shelter Friday night.  It looks like that
will be better weather.

*What Time:*
Plan to meet at the scout shed at 5:30.  We will load up the trailer and
depart from there.  Be sure to eat before you arrive or bring a sack meal.

We will plan to return Sunday morning.  Tentatively we will return at
10:30.  Sunday morning we will post a time to band based on how our morning
goes.

*What to pack:*
Personal First Aid Kit
Pocketknife
2 nights + 2 days clothing + extra dry clothing
Swim wear and towel
Rain Gear
Water Bottle
Flashlight + Head lamp
Snacks
Sun screen
Compass
Class “A” uniform
Closed Toed Shoes (good for walking and/or hiking)
Tent w/ rainfly or a buddy with a tent
Sleeping bag/pillow
Additional Blanket
Ground pad
Mess Kit (reusable eating kit)
Toiletries
Watch
Personal Medication
Pen/Pencil and Paper
Scout Handbook (in ziploc gallon bag)

For wilderness survival, review the scout essentials.  You may want to
complement that with a tarp or 2 and some rope. Plan for a night in your
shelter you build away from camp.  Bring a small pack to carry your gear.

You may want to bring fishing gear to fish on Saturday.
