[Troop351] Troop Dues Update

Troop 351 families,

At our September meeting, the committee voted to update troop dues, effective November 1.

New dues

Scouts: $45 per month ($540 per year, $120 to national which we do not get any of this back and $420 to the troop)
Registered adults: $65 per year, due once to cover the national dues (date to be announced later this year)
Why the change

Troop dues are currently $25 per month per Scout, and families pay the $120 annual national registration fee directly. Beginning in 2028, the troop will take over paying national registration. The new $45 rate folds that fee in, so families will no longer pay it separately. The result is a $10 per month per Scout increase in Troop dues. This increase is to cover the increased costs of camp outs, food, and Courts of Honor. The registered adult fee is a pass through directly to National Scouting America.

Here is where we are budgeting the $45:

Monthly campouts and outings: food, campsites, admission and activity fees. Approximately $20.00
National Scouting America registration: membership and insurance. Approximately $10.00. We do not get any of this back.
Camping gear. Approximately $7.50
Paypal fees, Troop reserve. Approximately $3.50
Rank and merit badge awards at Courts of Honor. Approximately $4.00
What to do

Already on the monthly PayPal subscription? Your payment will update to $45 starting with your November payment. PayPal may ask you to approve the change. If you get a notice, please approve it so your payment isn't interrupted.
