I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend. We aren't meeting
tonight (May 26th). Our next meeting is June 2nd. Parents are welcome to
come and ask questions at the June 2nd meeting. For now, here's some info
on preparing for summer camp.

   - Before Camp
      - Turn in updated medical forms. Adults and youth will need
current medical forms in order to attend camp.
      - Pack your gear early. You should have a tote or large duffle bag
for your gear. We will load the troop trailer, as well as
another trailer
we'll be using for summer camp.
      - Pick a buddy for camp. Every tent will have 2 scouts.
   - Camp (June 15-21)
      - We will depart from Asbury Sunday morning.
      - Eat breakfast before you leave.
      - Bring a sack lunch. Sunday lunch will not be provided by the camp.
      - Wear your Field *Uniform *(class A). We will be travelling in
      uniform.
      - Pack all your troop t-shirts if you have them.
      - Wear *close toed shoes* (and an extra pair if you have them)
      - Pack additional clothes as appropriate for the classes and free
      time activities.
         - swim gear (incl towel) for waterfront activities (not just
         swimming)
         - Pants and long sleeve shirt if appropriate for a merit badge
         - etc
      - Money for the camp trading post (snacks, and souvenirs)
      - Sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, and other camping gear. No tents
necessary, but a hammock is allowed. Below is a picture of a
tent with the
      cots available to campers.

Additional notes on packing:
- Do not pack your uniform. We will be travelling in uniform.
- Bring swim gear in a backpack in case we need to take swim tests again
(or if you haven't taken a swim test yet).
- Consider decorating your trunk with duct tape or stickers to make it
distinctive. We will have a lot of scouts with similar trunks.
- Budget for the trading post (snacks, souvenirs, etc). They accept cash,
debit and credit cards. Scouts must be responsible for their own spending
money.
- Outside snacks are allowed.
- Pack a special bag for the Monday mud run clothes.

Mail is appreciated by campers. It can take 4-5 days to arrive, so plan
accordingly. It may also arrive sooner than that. To send mail, use the
following address:

Camp Sequoyah
Scout’s Full Name
Troop 351, Week 3
4907 County Rd 11
Delta, AL 36258

I've included a link to a packing list and info about the Eagle bound
program for those that signed up for that. There's also a link to the full
leader guide. I encourage patrol leaders to look at the leader guide,
particularly the SPL Guidebook starting on page 16.
