*Its Time to Go Camping!*

242 County Road 3902

Arley, AL ,35541

Review the roster for the outing this weekend (at the very bottom). Check
for your name, and let me know if we need to change.

We will be camping at Mr Geartners in Arly AL. There is access to a
bathroom.

We will have the troop trailer to transport troop equipment and personal
gear.

Be prepared for swimming and watersports. Sunscreen, changes of clothing,
towels, sunscreen, bug spray, sunscreen, maybe water shoes, and sunscreen.

It is a great idea to look through your book and see what you need to get
signed off and be prepared to get it done.

*Cost: *Included in dues

*When:* Meet at the Scout shed 5:30 Friday -- should return 10:30 on Sunday.

*Gear Needed:* Sunscreen, water bottle, toiletries, flashlight, mess kit,
sleeping bag, mattress pad, scout book, notebook, clothing, tent *(not a
good spot for hammocks),* water bottle, sunscreen etc.

*Towels*, extra dry clothing and socks, sunscreen, water bottle

*Permission Slips:* Fill out the one in scout book, and I will have copies
with me.

*Health Forms:* Everyone must have an up to date part “A” & “B” on file
with the troop, part “C” is not needed.
*Swim Test: *Tubing requires a passed BSA swim test in the last 1 year.
There are many water activities.

*What to expect:*
We camp mostly to the right of Mr. Geartners Drive (space donated by his
neighbor), and there could be some space past it and to the left (see the
pictures), and not all of it level. There are no hammock trees.

Swimming, camping, tubing, cooking, good times, etc.

*Notes from Mr. Geartner*

I am looking forward to the weekend, I hope you all and the boys are. We
are still several days out but the weather doesn’t look terrible, there is
always some chances of rain but we can probably live with that.

   - Camping
      - There is the grassy area at the top of the property that you have
used in the past is available
      - There is power and water available at my little shop
      - You can park the trailer in the gravel drive at the top and any
other vehicles in the driveway for the trailer, that will help keep more
space available at the top for patrol areas and cooking
      - There are 4 bathrooms available for the boys to use, 2 in the
trailer, 1 in the big cabin and 1 in the little cabin
   - Water Sports
      - The jet ski is available for use but will have to be driven by the
      adults
         - I am fine if the boys want to drive as long as the adult is with
them and comfortable with the boys abilities to operate the jet
         ski under their supervision
      - Tubing and skiing behind the boat (and also behind the jet ski if
      anyone is not riding it)
      - 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board
      - Noodles and life jackets for swimming
      - The boys can fish if they would like, worms and crickets work great
      on the bluegill around
         - It might be best to fish from the shore since so many will be
swimming and boating from the dock
