[Troop351] August Troop Events

August is full of events for our troop.  I've added several entries to the
troop calendar and you should see these sync up to the band calendar.

*Aug. 15 - Volunteers* are needed for *campfire safety and smores*.  Pack
83 is having their first Pack meeting of their year, and would like some
scouts to help with the campfire and making smores.  They will be meeting
at the Asbury Barn, August 15 6-7pm

*Aug. 20 - Volunteers* are needed to organize and lead *games and other
scout activities.*  Pack 351 is having their first Pack meeting of the
year, and would like some older scouts to organize events for Lion and
Tiger scouts during the parent meeting portion.  They will be meeting at
the Asbury Gym, August 20th 6:30-7:30pm.

The above activities will qualify for service hours.
*Aug. 26 - Elections* - In addition to the above opportunities to
serve your fellow scouts, we will be holding leadership elections at the
end of the month.  Scouts that plan to run for Senior Patrol Leader should
prepare a speech.  Patrols will also be electing Patrol Leaders, with
additional leadership positions filled once elected positions are filled.

*Aug 23-25 - Yearly Planning + Watersports Campout* - We will be camping at
Mr. Gaertner's lake house Friday - Sunday.  Mr. Gaertner is a
former scoutmaster and we will be camping in his yard and enjoying the lake
front.  Saturday evening the troop will be putting together the yearly
plan.  If you are unable to camp, you are still invited to attend
Saturday.  If that is not a possibility, be sure to provide activity
suggestions to your patrol leader.  Patrol leaders should be collecting
those suggestions and turning those into the senior patrol leader.

*Sept. 2* - There will be *no meeting* on Labor Day.  We will return to
regular meetings Sept. 9th.  Watch the September calendar as the troop
calendar comes together after planning.
