*Cost:*
Included in Troop dues; there are no camping fees.
Backpackers need to cover the cost of any food. Backpackers are

*When:*
*We will meet at the scout shed at 5:30pm Friday*, please eat before you
come (or bring with you to eat in the car). Since we will have very little
troop gear to load please be prompt so we can get on the road as soon as
possible. We should be back mid afternoon on Sunday between 2-4 pm.
*What to Bring*
*Food for Campers *
Provided by Grubmasters – bring personal sacks.
*Food for Backpackers*
Be sure to have plenty of high calorie food to cover 1 breakfasts, 2
lunches, 1 dinner and plenty of snacks. Several adults/scouts will have
portable stoves with them and willing to share so you can boil water and
cook your meals. Beef Jerky, trail mix, dehydrated meals, bag tuna and
chicken, tortillas, and oatmeal are some good examples of food to pack.
*Water for campers*
Camp has running water.
*Water for Backpackers*
Each scout is responsible for carrying their own drinking/cooking water and
should bring 2-3 liters with them. We will have access to water on the
trail but no running water. The troop has filtration that will allow us to
fill up. You can also bring some drink mix with you to add to your water
if you want a few extra calories and flavor.
*Equipment for campers - *
Footwear for hiking, clothing for temps between 30 and 60 degrees, day
pack, tent, sleeping bag, rain gear/ponchos, water bottle, mess kit,
first-aid kit and other camping needs.
*Equipment for Backpackers*
Scouts will need a hiking grade backpack, a good pair of hiking boots, a
backpacking tent or hammock, appropriate temp sleeping bag, wet weather
gear, at least 2-3 sets of clothes, first aid kit (including mole skin),
trekking poles, baseplate compass, 3-4 pair of socks.
*Other Personal Gear* – There is a chance of rain late Friday, but temps
could fluctuate between mid 30's at night and high 60's during the day. Be
sure to have appropriate clothing and sleeping gear to keep you warm
at night and cool during the day (layers), pack plenty of socks to ensure
dry feet, and rain gear.
