UPDATE

 

We will meet at Asbury Scout shed at 4:30 and depart as soon as everyone is there.  Mr. Emmons will be driving also, so we’ll be able to cross load between the vehicles.  I know that’s a little earlier than we normally meet for a trip, but we need to arrive there by 7:00 to avoid causing problems for registration and setting up. 

 

Please don’t forget to bring your signed/completed BSA health forms A and B and something to eat on the way.

UPDATE

 

With the help of Mr. Bateman and Mr. Sperr, the OA folks have our roster and will support registration and payment on site Friday night, so no need to worry about the online link. Let me know if your status changes please.

 

Payment will be $95 to cover dues, meals, and some OA specific gear; there will be opportunities to buy souvenirs also

 

We need to arrive between 6-7 PM Friday

 

Scouts will not be allowed to arrive Saturday morning because activities will have already started. If this poses a problem for attendance please let me know.

 

Scouts must have completed/signed BSA Health Forms A and B – they recommend copies so you don’t lose originals.

 

Next opportunity for this is May 2024 – recent election will still be valid. As you see from the original list compared to the smaller list, we have a few who are already deferring it. 

 

Recommend you pay close attention to the packing list on the OA webpage Mr. Bateman sent below.

 

I could use some help from another adult leader with driving Friday night. I can carry 4 and don’t want to leave a family on their own if possible. Is a simple drive to Camp Comer and back. I have the help we need for driving home though. Am trying to make it easy on our families.

Based on feedback so far, it looks like the following Scouts want to participate this weekend. If anyone plans to participate but isn’t on this list, please let me know ASAP.

While Mr. Bateman is traveling this week, I’m providing this roster to the folks running the event to work around the online registration challenge and will continue to coordinate anything else they need. Scouts should plan to pay/register when they arrive, so please closely review the info at the link Mr. Bateman provided below – it includes paperwork requirements (health forms), packing list, and activity info. 

Regarding transportation to get there and back - I can take a few Scouts with me since I am already going, so if there is another adult leader willing to drive too, we can probably cover the group in two vehicles.

In order to determine who may need help getting to/from Camp Comer this weekend, can the Scouts selected this time (plus any that deferred it previously but are still eligible) please respond with whether they are going this weekend or at the next one so we know what numbers we’re dealing with?

Monday night we held our annual OA election. The following boys were elected as OA candidates:

To become a member of the OA, the candidates must attend an induction weekend.  Next weekend (Fri, Aug 11, 6:00 PM  til  Sun, Aug 13, 10:00 AM ) is an induction weekend at Camp Comer.  To attend, you must register and pay by this Thursday.  Information links:
