		Subject: Troop 351 volunteer opportunity

		Troop 351 family,
We're looking for a volunteer to help with our annual
popcorn fundraiser, starting this month. Below is a description of what it
entails. Please contact me, David Cybuck, or Timothy Lang if you're
interested or even just have questions. Even if you can't commit to more
than one year, we'd be happy to have the help. This is a great opportunity
to help the Scouts earn money to defray costs through the year.

		Job Description for Popcorn Kernel:
*	Oversee the sale of popcorn by the Troop. Busiest time is
July-November, with the bulk of the sale during August-October.
*	Work with their popcorn team to order popcorn, reserve and manage
storefront sales, and coordinate product transfers to individual scouts for
wagon sales. This is mostly done through the Trails End website.
*	Use the Trails End website to invite Troop scouts and monitor their
sales.
*	Arrange for the pickup, storage, transfer, and delivery of popcorn
product and related items (e.g., display signs, Square readers, etc.) in
support of storefront & wagon sales, as well as initial pickup and final
dropoff of product at the District office.
*	Manage the popcorn sale kickoff for the Troop and recruit/motivate
scouts to sell popcorn.
*	Work to develop a popcorn team that can arrange for future
succession at Kernel and produce a long-term fundraising plan for the Troop.
*	Seeking a multi-year (2+ years) commitment as Popcorn Kernel, with
the first year having me assist them heavily in getting started.
Troop 351 historically does not participate heavily in
popcorn sales (~$5-6k/year, with a small number of storefronts), so Popcorn
Kernel is generally not a lot of work if that plan remains the same. But
there is definitely room for growth.

				YIS,
