I am passing this along for Marcia Coons, the daughter of Tom Keeney. I
believe you all interacted with Tom and might remember him. He was an
outstanding scouter and person, he will be greatly missed.
Please pass this along to the troop.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Good evening,
I wanted to let you know that Tom Keeney died yesterday. It was peaceful
and my sister and I were with him when he passed. Close family was nearby
and we all had time to say goodbyes. He had a bad UTI and the antibiotics
didn't work (we later found out he had a yeast infection so the antibiotics
would not have worked) and in a few hours last Saturday he went from
talking but feeling poorly to coded, then intubated and on dialysis for the
next week. He was not able to regain consciousness and the doctors could
not offer any more help. We know he is in heaven with God so his pain is
over and ours is just beginning. He was very beloved and left a huge hole
in our lives already. I know Tom thoroughly enjoyed his years of scouting
with Troop 351 and really valued the mentors and young scouts.
We will have a Celebration of Life this Friday July 1, 2022 at Legacy
Funeral home on Hughes Drive in Madison from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.
If you want to send this notice of the Celebration of Life to the troop for
anyone who may still remember him and would like to attend the service,
please feel free to do so. Please leave out the medical info if you don't
mind. I just knew you'd want to know what happened as this was a shock to
all of us.
In lieu of flowers they are asking for a donation to The Smile Train
https://www.smiletrain.org.
The funeral arrangements are not made yet so I'll keep you posted, but the
Celebration of Life will be a good event to attend if you are able and want
to honor Tom (and Chris) Keeney.
My mom's address is 124 Montrose Drive, Madison, AL 35758 if you want to
contact her or send a card. Her phone to the house is 256-772-8036.
Thank you,
Marcia Coons
